AutoGenSat Application Customization: Department of Children and Families (DCF) Florida - Customer Profile The Department of Children and Families in Florida use AutoGenSat to support their mobile emergency food stamp program for Hurricane assistance. Below is an example movie showing the use of the system. They use the system to authenticate recipients with wireless handheld PC's to offer financial assistance via an EBT debit card that give them assistance when and where they need it the most. The system offers satellite connectivity, wireless access and telephone at the site. At right are representatives at DCF using handheld wireless PC's to swipe the magnetic stripe on Driver's Licenses to get recipient profiles. Once their benefits are calculated the DCF representative can pre-charge a debit card and activate funding within 24 hours. The AutoGenSat can be relocated to anywhere in the State of Florida within 12 hours following a hurricane. The satellite link sends all benefit transfers to the banks that activate the debit cards and accesses the State of Florida DMV data base for recipient authentication.
