The system is designed to meet the highest performance Internet and telephonic demands while underway at sea. The “total solution package” consists of a low profile (4.3” high) phased array satellite antenna and a next generation satellite router, the iDirect Evolution X5. The system maximizes the efficiency of satellite capacity support for small profile antennas. The X5’s automatic beam switching (ABS) was designed for phased array antennas such as the “ZipPhaser ll” with capability to provide seamless region-to-region connectivity (GNMS) on high earth orbit KU band satellite transponders. Teleport services include Internet broadband and 24/7 network control and support. ZipPhaser is targeted for large commercial cruise ships, super yachts or any vessel where reliable, uninterrupted and high speed business communications are critical. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: The ZipPhaser ll is a breakthrough in two-way satellite communications coupled with the iDirect Evolution X5 HUB support. The ZipPhaser ll's low profile 4.3" phased array antenna system is designed to provide communications for ships/boats/yachts,ect. This innovative antenna system automatically searches for and acquires the designated satellite signal and maintains pointing via automatic tracking and control of the azimuth, elevation and polarization angles while the ship or yacht is in motion at speeds to 240 Mph with no moving parts. Evolution X5 supports high-end enterprise networks operated by maritime service providers such as P&L International. It works with iDirect’s mobility features for maritime applications such as the ZipPhaser with automatic beam switching and spread spectrum. X5 also supports iDirect’s global network management system capability. The router can be deployed with a 60cm stabilized Ku-band ZipPhaser antenna supporting broadband data requirements and facilitating VoIP and video traffic. The bandwidth is selectable up to 2Mbps per antenna (multiple antennas can be installed per ship or Yacht) and the use of cell phones are also available through MicroCell technology. The ZipPhaser offers valuable utility across a wide range of applications, including ship or yacht broadband communications and first responders with a high-speed satellite communications independent of terrestrial infrastructures. The satellite coverage area operates on the KU band and uses the same satellite service with no changes to hardware settings. This is accomplished by utilizing the new X5 iDirect HUB line card.
